Job summary

North West Hospital and Health Service in Mount Isa is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program (Vision). The role focuses on vision screening, early intervention and preventative care for children, with collaboration between families, schools and health professionals.

The position is a temporary part-time role (24 hours per fortnight) with travel within the North West region, including remote schools, and additional benefits such as an isolation bonus,

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary degree qualification.
• Appropriate registration/licences.
• C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
• Pre-employment screening including Criminal History checks.
• Vaccination or immunity may be required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to vision screening and early identification of potential vision concerns in primary school aged children.
• Work collaboratively with Children's Health Queensland, families, schools and healthcare professionals.
• Promote health education and culturally responsive care, helping improve access to essential services for children and families across the region.
