Job summary

Vermont Secondary College in Melbourne's eastern suburbs is seeking an Education Support Class staff member to assist teachers and coordinate support staff under supervision. The role involves tasks aligned with school policy, data maintenance, and collaboration with a teacher team.

The position includes coordination of other education support staff, support tasks within educational programs, and supervision of students where assigned.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ordering class materials (such as food, equipment, etc) as requested by the Food Studies staff for weekly classes.
• Receiving ordered goods and putting them away.
• Responsibility for the organisation and layout of equipment and food required for practical lessons and putting away material after use.
• Responsibility for preparing and setting up materials needed for demonstrations, and washing equipment after demonstrations.
• Daily cleaning of benches, towels, shelves, stove tops, fridge, sinks, dirty equipment, ovens, and general work areas.
• Weekly cleaning and sanitising of aprons and utensils.
• Detailed cleaning of ovens, stoves, fridges, benches, shelves, drawers, pantry and sinks at the conclusion of term.
• Basic maintenance of equipment and working attire, maintenance, and upkeep of Food Technology rooms.
• Other duties as directed by the Principal.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards.
