Job summary

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Melbourne is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Global Health team. The role focuses on coordinating medical equipment, procurement and logistics to support Global Health programmes and partner countries, ensuring safe sourcing, storage and transport of equipment, supplies and medicines.

You will work with clinical volunteers, suppliers and hospital partners, maintain records and liaise on Drugs and Poisons Officer responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing registration and eligibility for Drugs and Poisons Officer role.
• Experience coordinating medical equipment procurement or logistics in healthcare.
• Strong focus on compliance, documentation and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the medical equipment asset register and coordinate storage, maintenance and refurbishment.
• Source equipment through purchasing, donations and partnership arrangements.
• Maintain accurate records, procedures, checklists and documentation.
• Identify and escalate risks relating to equipment availability, logistics and compliance.
• Support deployment readiness checks and provide operational guidance to staff and partners.
• Review processes and identify practical improvements in procurement, storage, and transport.
• Apply nursing knowledge to support Global Health programmes and deployments.
