Job summary

Southern Cross Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide holistic leadership and oversee care for residents in a 7-day roster environment. The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, staff supervision, and promoting resident wellbeing.

Requirement includes Bachelor of Nursing with AHPRA registration, First Aid and CPR certifications, and solid knowledge of dementia care and AN-ACC. Aged care experience is desirable; strong communication and time management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates.
• RN experience in an Aged Care environment is desirable.
• Strong communication skills with good English literacy.
• Exceptional time management and ability to support other staff.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills balancing resident independence and safety.
• High-level understanding of dementia care and challenging behaviours.
• Understanding of AN-ACC to optimise funding.
• Excellent clinical knowledge including medicines used in aged care.
• Strong knowledge of Aged Care Standards as they relate to accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic leadership to care and support teams.
• Assess and review residents’ health and functional abilities.
• Develop and maintain care plans and promote meaningful activities.
• Supervise staff in daily living and clinical care across shifts.
• Monitor care quality, resident wellbeing and safety.
• Lead each shift with guidance on best practices and standards.
