Job summary

City Fertility in Australia is seeking three part-time perioperative nurses to join the Brisbane (Newstead) and Southside (Sunnybank) Procedural Centres. You will deliver safe perioperative care across anaesthetic, instrument, circulating and recovery roles to support patients during the fertility journey.

The successful candidate will hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse, have at least two years perioperative experience, and demonstrate patient-centred,

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse aligned to the Nurses Award 2020.
• Minimum two years’ perioperative experience in scrub, scout, recovery and anaesthetics in day surgery or theatre.
• Strong commitment to patient‑centred, compassionate and respectful care.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, communicating clearly and professionally.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, quality improvement and clinical governance standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe perioperative care across anaesthetic, instrument, circulating and recovery roles.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy and informed consent at all times.
• Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons and recovery teams for effective handovers.
• Prepare operating lists, equipment and consumables for safe procedures.
• Apply infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Conduct surgical safety checks, counts and time-outs.
• Support anaesthetists with preparation, administration and monitoring of anaesthesia.
• Monitor patients for deterioration and escalate care as needed.
• Document care accurately to support decision-making.
• Facilitate safe recovery and discharge using clinical judgement.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement and incident reporting.
• Maintain competence in emergency procedures, including airway management.
• Contribute to team meetings and professional collaboration.
• Complete mandatory training and maintain clinical competencies.
