Job summary

Invisible Orthodontics in Parrearra, QLD, is seeking a dedicated Dental/Orthodontic Assistant for a part-time role. You will support dentists and orthodontists, prepare rooms, take X-rays, manage records, and educate patients in a patient-centred setting.

The role requires formal dental assisting qualifications, current eligibility with the Dental Board of Australia, infection control knowledge, and strong communication skills. Flexible part-time scheduling is offered.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in dental/orthodontic assisting from an accredited institution.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Dental Board of Australia.
• Proven experience as a dental/orthodontic assistant in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation procedures.
• Proficiency in dental practice management software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Caring, empathetic approach and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work flexibly in a part-time schedule.
• Current First Aid certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assisting dentists and orthodontists during procedures and appointments.
• Preparing rooms and sterilising instruments per infection control protocols.
• Taking and processing dental radiographs as required.
• Recording patient medical and dental histories accurately.
• Providing chairside support during orthodontic treatments.
• Educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Managing scheduling and appointment coordination.
• Handling billing, insurance claims, and patient correspondence.
• Maintaining a clean, organised clinical environment.
• Supporting the practice team for smooth daily operations.
