Job summary

Thorne Harbour Health is seeking a Management Accountant to support the Senior Accountant and strengthen financial governance across programs. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to inform leaders and managers.

Based in Abbotsford with a 3-month fixed term contract (part-time 30.4 hours per week) and hybrid work options, the position offers competitive pay and salary packaging benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA/CA preferred.
• Extensive accounting experience, ideally in non-profit sector.
• Understanding of Australian accounting principles and reporting requirements.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting.
• Advanced Excel; strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior management and program managers to develop and manage program budgets and forecasts.
• Coordinate and support the annual budget and forecasting process.
• Develop, maintain and monitor financial models, including cost recovery methodologies.
• Analyse profit and loss results against budget and forecast, and investigate variances.
• Maintain the funding acquittal register and prepare program budgets and acquittals per funding agreements and reporting deadlines.
• Provide backup payroll support and assist HR with cost allocations across programs.
