Job summary

Main Sequence is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to work with our General Counsel on investments, portfolio, and funds. This hands-on role offers high ownership in a fast-paced venture environment, with a 12-month, part-time contract during parental leave.

Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you’ll manage deal documentation, diligence and external counsel, while building AI-enabled legal workflows and maintaining strong confidentiality and risk controls.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years PQE in Australian law.
• Venture capital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the legal aspects of investments, portfolio and funds.
• Draft, negotiate and review term sheets, SPAs, SHAs, SAFEs and notes.
• Run legal, IP and corporate diligence.
• Support board/shareholder approvals, restructures and exits.
• Develop AI-enabled legal workflows and templates.
