Job summary

Opoint Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in West Pennant Hills, NSW. The role will commence on a part-time basis with potential for additional hours based on client needs.

In this position you will provide person-centred care to NDIS participants within a Supported Independent Living setting and the broader community, assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, community access, and skill development while promoting independence, dignity, and

Qualifications

• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Strong driving skills and safe driving record.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Experience or willingness to assist with personal care, including showering support.
• Basic cooking and meal preparation skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to supporting people with disability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with daily living activities and personal care.
• Assist participants with showering, grooming, dressing, and hygiene needs.
• Prepare nutritious meals and support participants with cooking and meal planning.
• Support participants to access and engage in community activities, appointments, and social outings.
• Transport participants safely to appointments, activities, and community events.
• Monitor participant wellbeing and report any concerns to management.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
• Promote participant independence and encourage skill development.
• Provide overnight support within a SIL environment, including inactive overnight shifts when required.
• Build positive and professional relationships with participants, families, and other stakeholders.
