Job summary

City of Canterbury Bankstown Council is hiring a Diploma Early Childhood Educator for Carrington Preschool in Campsie. The part-time role (21 hours/week) focuses on safe, inclusive, high-quality play-based learning for 3–5 year olds.

You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support a collaborative team with families and the community, while maintaining child-centered practices and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ACEQQA approved qualification).
• Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Senior First Aid Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
• Current CPR certificate.
• National Child Safety training completed.
• Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Significant Harm training completed.
• Experience as a Responsible Person at a service.
• Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality learning experiences for 3–5 year olds.
• Knowledge of mandatory reporting obligations and child protection legislation.
• Commitment to maintaining a child-safe culture and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
• Fulfill mandatory training and reporting obligations; stay current on child protection.
• Maintain health, hygiene and safe sleep records through vigilant supervision.
• Support a reflective, play-based program aligned with the National Quality Framework.
• Collaborate with team, families and community to support each child.
• Provide an inclusive environment for children with additional needs.

Education

Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ACEQQA approved qualification)
