Your role
The Senior Data Analyst plays an important role in BOCSAR’s mission to improve community safety and justice outcomes in NSW. Working at the intersection of policy, research and data analysis, the role leads complex analytical projects that inform evidence-based decision-making across government. The position combines strong technical expertise with sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills to deliver independent, high-quality analysis that informs criminal justice policy and service delivery.
What you’ll do

This includes leading analytical projects from scoping to delivery, tackling complex data problems, and working with large datasets using platforms such as Google BigQuery.
The role also involves exercising sound judgement, working independently to resolve analytical challenges, communicating findings in clear, tailored formats for both technical and non-technical audiences, mentoring junior analysts, contributing to the development of analytical tools and methods, and ensuring all work complies with strict privacy, security, and governance requirements.
You will join BOCSAR’s collaborative, high-performing team of analysts and researchers who value transparency, rigour, and the practical impact of their work. The environment is supportive yet intellectually challenging, with open knowledge-sharing, peer review, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
