Job summary

PLC Perth, Western Australia, invites applications for a part-time Dance and Drama Teacher to join the Dance and Drama Department. You will deliver engaging dance and drama education to Senior Years, assist Junior Years classes, and contribute to the Junior Years Annual Concert.

The role focuses on developing technique, creativity, confidence and expression, while fostering inclusive learning, collaboration and performance opportunities across co-curricular activities.

Qualifications

• Appropriate teaching qualifications and eligibility for registration with TRBWA.
• Experience teaching Dance and Drama across secondary year levels.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary Dance and Drama curriculum, techniques and performance practices.
• Experience teaching across Junior and Senior years is highly regarded.
• Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments supporting wellbeing and achievement.
• Strong practical Dance and Drama skills and ability to support varying abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, student engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging and innovative Dance and Drama programmes aligned with curriculum requirements.
• Teach students to develop a range of dance and drama techniques, styles and performance skills.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment encouraging creativity, confidence and collaboration.
• Prepare and support students for performances, productions and related events.
• Maintain contemporary knowledge of developments in Dance and Drama education and performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational experiences and co-curricular activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, families and staff regarding progress and requirements.
