Job summary

BaptistCare’s Shalom Centre in Macquarie Park, NSW, invites two experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists for part‑time roles. One role is three days per week, the other four days, with a 9:00am–5:00pm preference and flexibility to suit school hours and personal commitments.

The role provides high‑level clinical support, leadership to RN and care teams, and a path to specialist expertise in palliative, dementia, wound, diabetes and mental health care.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Post‑registration qualification relevant to aged care.
• Minimum 12 months' experience in clinical care or aged care.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and education delivery.
• Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Identify residents requiring clinical review and provide specialist assessment.
• Develop and review care plans with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support residents with complex care needs including palliative, dementia, wound, diabetes, and mental health care.
• Provide guidance after incidents, falls and changes in resident condition.
• Mentor and coach Registered Nurses and care teams to build capability.
• Promote evidence‑based practice and clinical excellence across the home.
• Facilitate education, training and competency development.
• Lead improvements in clinical practice and care delivery.
• Promote best‑practice care and compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Support quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
• Document resident care and funding requirements accurately.
