Job summary

BaptistCare NSW & ACT's Shalom Centre in Macquarie Park is seeking two experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide high-level clinical support and leadership. These part-time roles offer flexibility to suit various lifestyles with two positions: three days per week and four days per week, typically 9:00am to 5:00pm, Mon–Fri, with room to discuss alternatives.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Post-Registration qualification relevant to aged care.
• Minimum 12 months' experience in the clinical area of your qualification or aged care.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
• Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Excellent clinical assessment, care planning and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Commitment to person-centered care and continuous improvement.
• Appreciation of BaptistCare's Christian identity and values.

Responsibilities

• Identify residents requiring clinical review and provide specialist assessment and recommendations.
• Develop and review care plans in collaboration with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support residents with complex care needs, including palliative care, dementia care, wound management, diabetes management and mental health.
• Provide clinical support and guidance following incidents, falls and changes in resident condition.
• Assist with referrals to appropriate health professionals when required.
• Support the implementation of care plans through mentoring, education and coaching.
• Mentor and support Registered Nurses and care teams to build capability and confidence.
• Promote evidence-based practice and clinical excellence across the home.
• Facilitate education, training and competency development.
• Share specialised clinical knowledge and support ongoing professional development.
• Lead improvements in clinical practice and care delivery.
• Promote best-practice resident care and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Support quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
• Participate in clinical meetings and assist in identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure documentation supporting resident care and funding requirements is completed accurately.
• Support the investigation and management of clinical complaints and incidents.
• Promote safe care practices and positive resident outcomes.
