Job summary

Early Learning Victoria is seeking a part-time cook to join our team, working Mondays and Fridays at the Wedderburn centre co-located with Wedderburn College. You will plan and prepare nutritious meals for children in line with health and safety policies.

Applicants should have proven cook/chef experience and knowledge of food safety, with the ability to cater for diverse dietary needs. A 15% wage uplift under the Commonwealth Worker Retention Grant applies to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Proven cook or chef experience with high-volume meal preparation.
• Understanding of Food Safety Act and hygienic food handling.
• Ability to cater for diverse dietary, allergy and cultural needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with staff, children, families and communities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children per policy.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and cultural preferences.
• Order food supplies and manage stock within budget.
• Maintain a safe, clean kitchen environment and keep Food Safety Program updated.
