Job summary

APIWA in WA is seeking a Cook, Support Kitchen Staff, Baristas & Cafe Staff in a part-time capacity to support seniors at our Not-For-Profit cafe in Cannington. You will prepare meals, operate café equipment and deliver friendly service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a cook or in a cafe kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene; Food Safety Supervisor certificate preferred
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain accuracy
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritise tasks
• Sound culinary skills with ability to follow recipes

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking a variety of menu items according to recipes and food safety standards
• Managing kitchen stations and ensuring smooth workflow during service
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas and utensils
• Plating dishes to a high standard
• Operating café equipment safely
• Assisting with stock rotation, ordering and inventory
• Delivering attentive customer service to café patrons
• Contributing to menu development based on feedback
