Job summary

Gilson College invites a dedicated Music Tutor to teach brass and Year 5 band lessons, and to conduct the Senior Band. The role involves leading ensembles, managing instrument maintenance, and supporting sound equipment setup.

The position supports the College's Christian ethos and community, with a focus on small-group and ensemble activities. Applicants should hold Working with Children Clearance and be comfortable with reference screening and Adsafe checks as part of our safeguarding

Qualifications

• Experience teaching brass instruments to school-aged children.
• Ability to lead and develop Year 5 band programs.
• Familiarity with basic sound equipment and live sound setup.

Responsibilities

• Teach brass and Year 5 instrument/band lessons.
• Lead ensembles in sacred and secular music.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and minor repairs.
• Assist with sound equipment and mixing desks when needed.
• Support student ensembles through rehearsals, in and after classes.
• Source and manage student resources for music programs.
• Promote and support the Christian ethos of Gilson College.
