Job summary

ACT Health in Canberra is offering a fixed-term, part-time Staff Specialist position in Anatomical Pathology (0.5 FTE) for 12 months, with potential extension. The role covers long service leave in the department and may suit a recently qualified Fellow.

The Anatomical Pathology service requires diagnostic reporting, teaching, research, and active participation in quality assurance. The position may involve a conjoint ANU academic appointment during the term.

Qualifications

• Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Meet credentialing requirements and obtain an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical/Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).
• Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
• Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic reporting in Anatomical Pathology as part of day-to-day laboratory operations.
• Lead and participate in research projects and quality assurance activities.
• Teach and train registrars and medical students.
• Contribute to perinatal autopsy services as required.
• Work under broad direction of senior pathology leadership and support clinical/research matters.
