Job summary

Cater Care in Glen Waverley, Victoria is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join our aged care kitchen team. You’ll help prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents, working with a supportive team to deliver a positive dining experience.

The ideal candidate has food prep or customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A current Police Check and Flu Vaccination, or willingness to obtain them, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous food preparation or customer service experience.
• Experience in contract catering or aged care (highly regarded).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional presentation and team-focused approach.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Current Police Check and Flu Vaccination, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh salads, sandwiches and texture-modified meals.
• Assist with meal preparation, plating and service.
• Replenish food and kitchen supplies during service.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Dishwashing and general kitchen duties.
• Set tables and assist residents during mealtimes.
