Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably in an aged care facility, hospital, healthcare environment, or commercial setting.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and use of cleaning equipment.
• Good attention to detail and ability to maintain cleaning standards.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning duties with safe manual handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a reliable, positive attitude.
• Respectful, patient and compassionate approach when interacting with older people.
• Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining resident rooms, bathrooms, toilets, corridors, dining areas, and communal spaces.
• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning floors and surfaces.
• Disinfecting high-touch surfaces per infection prevention procedures.
• Emptying rubbish and maintaining clean waste disposal areas.
• Replenishing cleaning supplies and hygiene products.
• Using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
• Reporting maintenance issues or safety concerns.
• Following cleaning schedules and WHS requirements.
• Respecting residents' privacy and dignity.
• Collaborating with cleaning, care and hospitality teams to maintain cleanliness.
