Job summary

Warrigal Mt Warrigal aged care home is seeking a part-time cook to provide well presented, nutritious meals for residents, while managing all catering and food production duties and supervising catering staff.

You will hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or similar) and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, with extensive commercial cooking experience, budgets, stock control, and the ability to lead a small team with empathy for older people.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Extensive cooking experience in a commercial environment.
• Demonstrated experience in bulk cooking and stock ordering within budget guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and empathy with older people.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage all catering and food production, including supervision of catering staff.
• Ensure meals are well presented and nutritious for residents.
• Adhere to WHS and food safety requirements.
