Job description

Parliamentary Services Specialist

Organisation/Entity: Transport For NSW

Job category: Administration & Office Support

Job location: Macquarie Park, NSW, AU, 2113

Job reference number: 111933

Employment type: Permanent Full-Time

Salary range: $141678.0-$158677.0

If you’re after impact, there’s no other organisation in Australia that delivers work on this scale.

You've been looking for an opportunity to influence policies, initiatives, and projects that can improve the lives of millions of people.

In this role, you’ll:

Lead the end-to-end delivery of time critical parliamentary products, producing high quality responses that require judgement, political awareness and precision. Working with minimal supervision, you will independently draft and deliver complex parliamentary products that accurately reflect Transport for NSW’s position and align with government policy.

You will anticipate parliamentary scrutiny, prepare clear supporting materials, and take ownership of urgent or sensitive matters. Your work will routinely inform Ministerial decision making and must consistently meet Ministerial standards and expectations.

Due to the nature of parliamentary operations, you will work to a roster of extended hours between 7am and 7pm (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday mornings during sitting periods). These responsibilities are shared within the portfolio team.

You thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment and bring exceptional writing skills. You can produce clear, professional and politically aware responses under tight timeframes while managing multiple competing priorities.

You understand how government operates and can confidently navigate political sensitivities. You are adaptable, responsive and take pride in delivering accurate, high quality work when it matters most.

You also bring:

  • Strong judgement and attention to detail
  • The ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of outcomes
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement

You will hold a relevant qualification or equivalent experience and demonstrate operational excellence through consistent, on time delivery of high quality work.

This role is hybrid-friendly, meaning you can mix in-person days at your office location with remote days.
