Job summary

Caloundra Council is seeking a Parks Worker to join the team in Caloundra. This role offers a strong hourly rate and a chance to work in a beautiful coastal area, maintaining parks and gardens to a high standard.

The position runs Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 3:30pm with a potential extension beyond January 2027. Successful candidates will have horticulture certification or relevant parks/gardens experience, a White Card, and valid driving licences (C class and LR).

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Horticulture or relevant parks/gardens experience.
• White Card is required.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence is required.
• LR Licence is required.
• Good level of fitness for manual labour, lifting and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Planting, pruning, weeding and mulching.
• Mowing and turf maintenance.
• Irrigation works.
• Plant propagation.
• Pest and weed control.
• General landscaping and labouring duties.
• Removing litter and green waste from parks and gardens.
• Monitoring the health and condition of plants and landscaped areas.
• Working safely in line with WHS and environmental requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Planting, pruning, weeding and mulching
• Mowing and turf maintenance
• Irrigation works
• Plant propagation
• Pest and weed control
• General landscaping and labouring duties
• Removing litter and green waste from parks and gardens
• Monitoring the health and condition of plants and landscaped areas
• Working safely in line with WHS and environmental requirements

What You'll Need

• Certificate II in Horticulture or relevant parks/gardens experience
• White Card

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
