Job summary

Randstad is sourcing experienced gardeners for multiple locations in Queensland. You will perform parkland maintenance, garden planning, and disease/pest control while safely operating machinery and following site guidelines.

The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork and a strong commitment to safety. Suitable candidates should hold MR/HR licences, a White Card, and horticulture qualifications, with opportunities across several council sites.

Qualifications

• Compulsory tickets/experience required.
• MR/HR licence or willingness to obtain.
• Cert III Horticulture or trade equivalent or extensive industry experience.
• White Card (Construction Safety) required or obtainable.
• Traffic Management Awareness (TMA) required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Park and landscape maintenance across multiple sites.
• Planning and maintenance of gardens and beds.
• Identify plant disease and apply appropriate treatments.
• Operate and maintain gardening machinery and equipment.
• Maintenance may include beds, hedges, and turf areas.
• Identify pests and pathogens and implement control measures.

There are multiple opportunities in a range of locations which could see you involved in the full scope of parkland landscape construction and maintenance. Some maintenance may include garden beds, hedges and turfed areas. You may also work to identify and treat diseased plants and control specific pests and pathogens.

What you will need to exceed

Compulsory tickets/experience

• MR/HR licence (or willing to obtain)
• Cert III Horticulture or trade equivalent or extensive Industry Experience
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry - White Card (Compulsory to hold/obtain)
• Traffic Management Awareness aka TMA (Compulsory to hold/obtain)

Highly regarded

• ACDC Commercial Operators Licence (or willing to obtain)
• Chainsaw ticket (or willing to obtain)
• First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
• Excavator (with proven operating experience)
• TMI (Traffic Management Implementation) or TMA (Working in Proximity to Roads Part 1 & 2)
