Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Parks & Countryside Officer for a 3 months contract with a Local Authority. The role involves maintaining parks, open spaces and countryside areas to ensure they are safe, clean and well-presented for residents and visitors.

You will perform grass cutting, hedging, litter picking and general grounds maintenance. Outdoor work in all weather, a full UK driving licence and strong health-and-safety knowledge are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in Street Cleansing or Environmental Services.
• Grass cutting and horticultural maintenance experience.
• Experience operating ride-on mowers or similar machinery.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Capable of working independently.
• Full UK Driving Licence (up to 3.5 tonnes).
• Solid knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Empty litter bins and waste receptacles.
• Carry out litter picking across parks and open spaces.
• Sweep pathways and public access areas.
• Undertake grass cutting and grounds maintenance tasks.
• Hand-weed shrub beds and planted areas.
• Trim hedges and maintain landscaped areas.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Support upkeep of parks and recreational facilities.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Work independently and as part of a team to maintain high environmental standards.
