Job summary

UDL Group is seeking a 1st year Parks and Gardens apprentice to join our Whittlesea-based team. You will work from our Epping depot, supporting daily mowing, detailing, hedge work, and general grounds maintenance as part of a long-term contract with Whittlesea City Council.

Immediate start for an enthusiastic person who enjoys outdoor work, has a can-do attitude, and is keen to complete a Cert III in Parks and Gardens through on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Current Victorian Driver's Licence is essential.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card) is essential.
• First Aid Certificate is an advantage.
• Commitment to safety practices and outdoor work.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Ability to build strong relationships with team members.
• Positive, can-do attitude and pride in work.

Responsibilities

• Daily mowing and detailing of reserves and roadsides.
• Operate wide area mowers, out fronts and zero turns.
• Blowing paths and litter removal.
• Hedging, weeding, planting, mulching and pruning as required.
• Monitor flora health and assist with maintenance tasks.

About this Position:

We are looking for a 1st year apprentice to complete a cert III in Parks and Gardens as part of our ongoing long-term contract with Whittlesea City Council.

Whether you’re looking to start your apprenticeship or are currently a 1st or 2nd year apprentice in Gardening/Landscaping, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

As a valued team member, you will be based out of our Epping Depot and be responsible for daily mowing/detailing of reserves and roadsides. Utilising our wide area mowers, out fronts and zero turns you will become a vital part of our team with your daily tasks including (but not limited to):

• Mowing as directed

• Brush cutting as directed

• Blowing Paths

• Litter Removal

• Hedging

• Weeding

• Chemical spraying

• Pruning

• Planting

• Mulching

• Monitoring flora health, treating appropriately

• Minor preventative maintenance on equipment and tools

Requirements:

• Current Victorian Drivers Licence

• Construction Induction Card (White Card)
