Job summary

South32 invites applications for a Paramedic Nurse at our Cannington remote site in northwest Queensland. This permanent FIFO role from Townsville or Brisbane delivers on-site primary healthcare and emergency medical treatment where no doctor, clinic, or hospital is nearby.

You will respond to emergencies, support RFDS aeromedical retrievals, manage occupational health programs, and run clinics with a 4WD ambulance, collaborating with triage doctors and emergency teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Nursing with current AHPRA registration.
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Drug and Alcohol Testing Officer, ALS and Emergency Remote Care certifications.
• Audiometry and Spirometry testing approvals desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate RFDS aeromedical retrievals.
• Assess, treat and manage work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses.
• Manage blood lead monitoring, drug and alcohol screening and vaccine programs.
• Run the on-site and village clinics and operate a 4WD ambulance.
