Paralegal

Let’s talk about the opportunity

The purpose of this role is to provide paralegal, administrative and clerical services to support the Executive Director, Legal Division and Legal Division lawyers. This includes assisting the facilitation of compulsory examinations and public inquiries, legal research, and general clerical duties such as word processing, photocopying, collating and shredding. Conduct other duties (including Associate work) as required.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

The annual salary is $92,233 to $102,263, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading (currently 17.5%)

A talent pool may be created for future permanent or temporary positions and is valid for a period for up to 18 months.

Candidates will be assessed against the following requirements:

  • The position holder must either hold a legal qualification, be studying for a legal qualification or have previous paralegal experience.
  • The position requires experience providing administration and record keeping services within a legal environment. The position holder must have experience in using office applications and technical systems.
  • The position holder must have well developed organisational abilities, be able to prioritise work and communicate effectively with people of diverse background, occupation, and seniority, both internal and external to the Commission.
