Paralegal – Property and Commercial Team
Miller Sockhill Lawyers | Sunshine Coast
Love property and commercial law? Enjoy being part of a great team? We’d love to meet you!
Are you an experienced paralegal looking for a role where you can put your skills to good use, work with a supportive team and actually enjoy coming to work?
Miller Sockhill Lawyers is a local Sunshine Coast law firm with a friendly team and a strong focus on looking after our clients. We're looking for a motivated and organised full-time Paralegal to join our Property and Commercial Team, assisting with residential and commercial property matters.
We're looking for someone who knows their way around a law firm, takes pride in getting the details right and enjoys helping things run smoothly. You'll need to be proactive, reliable and happy to roll up your sleeves when things get busy.
What's in it for you?
A great team: Work alongside people who value teamwork, communication and a positive attitude.
Variety in your day: Be involved in a range of residential and commercial property matters.
Room to grow: Build on your existing skills and continue developing your legal experience.
A local firm: Be part of a Sunshine Coast team that values its people and the service we provide to our clients.
What will you be doing?
Working closely with our Property and Commercial Team, your role will include:
Assisting with residential and commercial conveyancing matters, leasing matters, business transactions, body corporate matters and developments.
Assisting with preparing and managing legal documents and correspondence under supervision.
Liaising with clients, solicitors, agents and other parties involved in transactions.
Managing files, keeping matters on track and following up outstanding items.
Providing general paralegal and administrative support to the team.
Helping ensure deadlines are met and clients receive great service.
Pitching in to assist other areas of the practice when needed. We're a small team, so a hands‑on approach and willingness to help each other out goes a long way.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you'll have:
At least 2 years' current experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm.
A good understanding of legal terminology and legal processes.
Experience with residential and/or commercial conveyancing (highly regarded).
Confidence communicating with clients and other professionals.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent written communication, spelling and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently, use your initiative and see what needs doing.
A positive attitude, a reliable work ethic and a willingness to be part of a team.
A current, valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
A willingness to assist across other areas of the practice when required.
LEAP experience is an advantage, but not essential. We're happy to consider someone with the right experience, attitude and willingness to learn.
The person we’re hoping to find
Skills and experience are important, but so is the person behind them.
You’ll be someone who is approachable, enjoys working with others, takes ownership of their work and isn’t afraid to ask questions. You can keep a cool head when things get busy, communicate well and understand that the little details make a big difference.
If you’re looking for a role where you can contribute, keep learning and be part of a team that has your back, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a full-time, office-based position, with remuneration based on experience.
To be eligible for this role, you must be legally permitted to work in Australia.
