We are now seeking a proactive and detail-driven Paralegal/Law Clerk with conveyancing experience to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with our solicitors, play a hands-on role in property transactions, and continue to develop your skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will provide legal and administrative support across conveyancing, property, and general legal matters. You\'ll be confident managing multiple deadlines, liaising with clients, and assisting our solicitors in preparing matters for settlement and court. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and lodging contracts for sale, transfer documents, and settlement statements.
- Managing the conveyancing process from exchange through to settlement.
- Liaising with clients, agents, and other stakeholders to coordinate property transactions.
- Drafting legal documents, chronologies, and correspondence.
- Assisting solicitors in preparing briefs for Counsel and attending conferences.
- Conducting legal research and analysis to support advice and case strategy.
- Maintaining accurate client records and managing electronic and physical files.
- Managing diaries and calendar appointments, including settlement dates, court dates, and client meetings.
- Undertaking general administrative tasks, including printing, photocopying, and file management.
- Preparing client invoices, recording time entries, and assisting with budget tracking.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in paralegal studies or a related field.
- Acceptable qualifications include paralegal diploma, law degree, legal studies certificate, business qualification, or any tertiary qualification.
- 2+ years' experience in a paralegal or conveyancing role, ideally with exposure to both family law and property transactions.
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when liaising with clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in diary management, settlement coordination, and general administrative tasks.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Sound knowledge of legal terminology, conveyancing procedures, and the court system.
- A client-focused approach with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
