Job summary
The City of Marion invites applications for a Para Urban Planner who is customer service oriented and eager to grow within a busy Urban Planning and Development team. You will interact with the public, developers and elected members to support planning assessments, while working with subject matter experts to enhance your development assessment capabilities.
Preferably you will hold a degree in Urban and Regional Planning or have demonstrated relevant experience, with opportunities for
Qualifications
- Provide front line customer service in person, phone and email related to planning matters.
- Identify development applications and progress them through assessment.
- Manage records and documentation per council procedures.
- Advise applicants and stakeholders to achieve positive planning outcomes.
- Respond to requests from elected members and other units on planning policy.
Responsibilities
- Front line customer service for development questions and enquiries.
- Guide applications through the assessment process.
- Maintain records in accordance with Records Management procedures.
- Support applicants with interpretation of plans and legislation.
- Assist with information requests to and from council stakeholders.
