Col's Bodyshop in West Ryde NSW is seeking skilled Panelbeater and Vehicle Painter to join our team on a permanent full‑time basis. You will work across two roles, repairing smash damage and refinishing vehicles to a high standard, within a long‑standing local workshop.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (Cert III/IV) or 3+ years relevant experience.
• Registration or licensing may be required for this occupation.

Responsibilities

• Straightening damaged vehicles and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Fitting repaired or replacement panels on vehicles and refitting body hardware.
• Replacing badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels.
• May assist vehicle body builders in constructing and restoring custom-designed, vintage and other specialty vehicles.
• Support continuous improvement and quality outcomes.
• Contribute to a positive, safe and productive workplace.
• Follow all workplace policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders.
• Masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper.
• Colour matching and mixing paints to match shades.

The team specialises in smash repairs and insurance claims, and also provides 24/7 towing across West Ryde.

It is an established, long standing local workshop for anyone looking to build a career in the panel and collision repair trade. POSITION DETAILS: Location: West Ryde NSW Employment type: Full-time Salary: $79,423-$80,000. THE ROLES (2):.

PANELBEATER.

EMPLOYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Straightening damaged vehicles and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment

• Replacing badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels
• May assist vehicle body builders in constructing and restoring custom-designed, vintage and other specialty vehicles
• Support continuous improvement and quality outcomes
• Contribute to a positive, safe and productive workplace
• Follow all workplace policies, procedures and safety requirements.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate III including at least two years of relevant experience, or Certificate IV.

VEHICLE PAINTER.

EMPLOYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders
• Masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper
• Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint
• Applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
• Follow all workplace policies, procedures and safety requirements
• Contribute to a positive, safe and productive workplace
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate III including at least two years of relevant experience, or Certificate IV.

At least 3 years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of the formal qualification.

• Relevant experience may also be required.
