Job summary

Truck Centre WA is seeking an experienced Panel Beater & Prepper to join Phil's Recon Shop in Western Australia. You will repair damaged vehicle panels, prepare surfaces and apply coatings to manufacturing specifications, working in a professional workshop environment with a team that values quality and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology (or equivalent), 2–5 years' experience in smash/ collision repair, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology (or equivalent) is preferred.
• 2–5 years' experience in smash repair or collision repair workshop.
• Strong knowledge of panel beating, body filler application, sanding and primer preparation.

Responsibilities

• Repair damaged vehicle panels by removing dents and scratches using specialist panel beating tools.
• Remove and replace damaged panels by unbolting, cutting, welding or bonding new components to manufacturer specs.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, applying body filler, shaping, and block sanding to restore contours.
• Apply primer-surfacer and corrosion-resistant coatings to bare metal and repaired areas.
• Mask windows, trims and panels to protect against overspray during refinishing.
• Conduct final quality inspections to identify surface imperfections and rectify them before painting.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop and work with the team to move vehicles through the repair process.
