Job summary

Elz Collision Centre in Prestons, NSW, is seeking a skilled Panel Beater to join our team. You will assess damage, repair and replace panels, and restore vehicle structures to manufacturer specs, working with our workshop team to complete repairs safely and efficiently.

We offer a full-time role in a modern, family-owned workshop with a focus on quality workmanship and safety. Applicants with a Certificate III or equivalent trade qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in panel beating and collision repairs.
• Ability to interpret repair information and follow manufacturer specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and with a workshop team.
• Good time management and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle body damage and determine repair methods.
• Read and interpret repair estimates and manufacturer specs.
• Remove damaged panels to access repair areas.
• Repair dents and reshape panels with hand tools and equipment.
• Measure, straighten and realign vehicle structures.
• Cut out damaged sections and weld replacement panels.
• Fit and align repaired panels with correct gaps and clearances.
• Apply body fillers and sand surfaces for refinishing.
• Inspect repairs for structural integrity and finish.
• Coordinate with spray painters and estimators to meet deadlines.
• Maintain tools, equipment and clean work areas.
• Follow health and safety procedures and repair guidelines.
