Job summary

SA Health’s Modbury Hospital is seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager for the Palliative Care Unit. You will provide day-to-day clinical leadership, support patients and the nursing team through high-acuity end-of-life care, and drive excellence in family-centered care.

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee rostering, resource allocation, and escalation management while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and compassionate care within the Northern Adelaide Local Health

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Experience in palliative care or related specialty is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and support nursing teams in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and mentoring nursing staff to maintain safe, compassionate care standards.
• Coordinating unit operations including rostering, resource allocation, and escalation management.
• Supporting quality improvement initiatives aligned with NALHN's palliative care model.
• Acting as a clinical resource and escalation point for complex symptom management and family communication.
