Overview

Dandenong (Blastmaster) is seeking Painter applicants for permanent full-time positions to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces for painting by removing old coverings and ensuring surfaces are smooth and ready for painting.
• Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying additives.
• Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays.
• Able to perform surface preparation to specification using abrasive blasting, hand tools, power tools and water washer.
• Ensuring work areas are left clean and cleared of unnecessary items.
• Cleaning of all equipment once finished and the ability to determine equipment failure causes.
• Erecting scaffold, ladders and positioning drop sheets.
• Correct surface preparation.
• Apply protective coating.
• Check and set up surface preparation and protective coating equipment/tools to ensure they operate safely and correctly.
• Able to determine equipment failure causes.
• To participate in, to understand and apply all requirements of safety, quality and environmental management systems.
• To comply with instruction given for safety and health, quality and environment protection controls by Supervisor.
• To ensure they do not expose themselves or others to an unacceptable level of risk, or to do anything that might adversely affect others.
• To be in a fit condition to carry out the work.
• Not to do anything wilfully or recklessly that might adversely affect other persons.
• To comply with appropriate legislation, site management plans and Colourmax management plan and procedures.
