G Wiz Refine Painting & Decorating Services in Melbourne is seeking a dedicated painter to deliver high-quality interior and exterior finishes for residential and commercial projects across Melbourne. You will prepare surfaces, apply coatings and ensure safety and professionalism on every job.

The role requires a relevant painting and decorating qualification, at least 3 years of experience, and a strong focus on quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Painting and Decorating or equivalent trade experience.
• Minimum 3 years painting/decorating experience across residential/commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of painting techniques and surface preparation.
• Experience with sprays and spray equipment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Excellent cutting, rolling and finishing skills.
• Ability to interpret job specs and select materials.
• Good communication, time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach.
• Strong health and safety understanding.
• Working at heights experience is desirable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting (sanding, filling, caulking).
• Apply primers, undercoats, paints, varnishes and coatings.
• Carry out high-quality interior and exterior painting.
• Undertake spray painting.
• Paint feature walls and decorative finishes.
• Paint doors, frames, skirting boards and architraves.
• Mix and match paints to required colours.
• Use brushes, rollers and spray equipment safely.
• Complete basic plaster repairs.
• Apply epoxy flooring and other coatings.
• Protect surrounding areas and finished surfaces.
• Read and interpret job specifications and client requirements.
• Work safely from ladders, scaffolding and elevated platforms.
• Complete work efficiently within project timeframes.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas.

Qualification & experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Relevant qualification in Painting and Decorating, or equivalent recognized trade experience.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant painting and decorating experience, preferably across residential and/or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of professional painting techniques and surface preparation.
• Experience working with a range of paints, coatings and decorative finishes.
• Experience with spray painting and spray equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
