Job summary

Sky5 is seeking a motivated Painter for its Greater Melbourne VIC team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will paint external and internal surfaces, using various access methods and equipment, and assist with safety setup per SDS and Sky5 procedures.

The role requires a relevant painting qualification, at least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment, and full working rights in Australia. Rope access and working at heights experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in commercial or industrial painting or a similar trade.
• At least 2 years' experience as a painter in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant trade qualifications or at least 3 years' equivalent experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to coordinate duties efficiently.
• Experience and/or qualifications in rope access and working at heights (highly desirable).
• Knowledge of various rope access techniques.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Utilise agreed access and work methods to paint designated surfaces to expected standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and Site Supervisors to identify and resolve issues relating to work plan implementation.
• Ensure all materials and resources are packed away safely and sites are left clean and orderly upon completion of each job.
• Utilise appropriate products and equipment in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and client site requirements.
• Prepare all required resources and equipment before commencing work.
• Perform job-specific painting techniques using brushes, rollers, sprays and pole applicators.
• Prepare surfaces and apply paints, including removing existing paint through sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting and steam cleaning.
• Interpret blueprints and drawings and establish exclusion zones for safe operations on site.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for painting buildings' external and internal surfaces, utilising a range of access methods, paint products, patching and waterproofing products, and specialist equipment relevant to our services.
