Job summary

HKA is seeking penultimate-year students for an 8-week paid internship within our Sydney FACD team, commencing December 2026 and concluding February 2027, with a break over Christmas and New Year.

You will work alongside experienced forensic accountants and expert witnesses, analyzing financial records, researching markets, and building financial models in Excel to support real client matters. This internship offers hands-on learning in a collaborative, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year student (graduating in 2027) in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Law, Criminology, Science or related degrees.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Comfortable with uncertainty and solving complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Analyse financial records and large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and key issues.
• Research companies, industries and markets.
• Assist with financial and damages calculations.
• Build and develop financial models in Excel.
• Help assess and interpret complex financial information.
• Contribute to reports, presentations and other work prepared for clients and legal teams.
