Job summary

HKA offers an 8-week paid internship in our Sydney Forensic Accounting & Commercial Damages (FACD) team, running from December 2026 to early February 2027, with a Christmas/New Year closure.

As a penultimate-year student, you will work alongside experienced forensic accountants and expert witnesses, contributing to real client matters and gaining hands-on exposure to financial analysis, data review and reporting.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year student (graduating in 2027) in any discipline, but primarily Commerce, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Law, Criminology, Science or related degrees.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Comfortable with uncertainty and navigating unfamiliar challenges.

Responsibilities

• Analyse financial records and large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and key issues.
• Research companies, industries and markets.
• Assist with financial and damages calculations.
• Build and develop financial models in Excel.

The Opportunity

We are offering an 8-week paid internship for penultimate-year students within our Sydney Forensic Accounting & Commercial Damages (FACD) team, commencing in December 2026 and concluding in early February 2027, with a break over Christmas and New Year for our office closure period.
