Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking Visiting Medical Officers in Paediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine to join our new medical eating disorder team. The majority of patients are paediatric, with services available up to age 25, collaborating with Mental Health, CAMHS, and inpatient teams.

This role combines outpatient and inpatient responsibilities. The appointment is a permanent part-time position (22.75 hours per fortnight) with excellent working conditions and strong opportunities for

Qualifications

• Basic Medical degree, registrable with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine).
• Experience with young people with Eating Disorders.
• Ability to participate in after-hours on-call roster.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to young people up to 25 with eating disorders in inpatient, HITH and outpatient settings.
• Lead and support the multidisciplinary team, supervise junior doctors and trainees, participate in MDT meetings and on-call duties.
• Ensure evidence-based, patient- and family-centred care in line with Australian standards and Barwon Health policies.
