Job summary

Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Aboriginal Corporation in East Perth is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist specialising in Paediatrics to join the Derbarl Kids team. Qualifications

• Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Clinical Psychologist.
• Eligibility to apply for a Medicare Provider Number and bill for services rendered.
• Experience providing psychological support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical psychological assessment, therapy and interview techniques with children, young people and their families.
• Understanding of health, social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute positively to team culture and service delivery.
• Experience and understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Previous experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.
• Experience working with families who experience social, economic or health disadvantage.
• Knowledge of the NDIS and Early Childhood Approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adolescents.
• Develop appropriate treatment recommendations based on assessments and engage in interventions (psychoeducation, individual and group therapy).
• Lead collaborative efforts with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Provide case management for clients through collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and external providers.
• Act as a clinical resource for complex cases, providing consultation and support to the team.
