Asahi Beverages in Melbourne is seeking a Packaging Reliability & Maintenance Manager to lead the teams, systems and strategies that keep our packaging operations safe, reliable and performing at their best.

You’ll develop proactive maintenance plans, improve equipment reliability and deliver capital and new product projects, partnering with production, engineering and site teams to embed a practical, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have maintenance, reliability or asset management experience within manufacturing.
• Proven track record improving equipment reliability and maintenance performance.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, risk assessment and safety requirements.
• Experience managing projects and budgets with contractors.

As Packaging Reliability and Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead the people, systems and strategies that keep our packaging operations safe, reliable and performing at their best.

You’ll develop proactive maintenance plans, improve equipment reliability and deliver capital and new product projects. Working closely with production, engineering and site teams, you’ll build technical capability and embed a practical, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Packaging Engineering Specialist team, creating a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance programmes and shutdown plans that improve plant reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis, standard work and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring equipment failures and operational waste.
• Plan and manage capital expenditure, operational expenditure, service agreements and new product development projects.
• Partner with production, engineering and site teams to align maintenance activity with safety, quality and operational priorities.
• Maintain effective contractor, change and compliance processes in line with relevant safety, environmental and legislative requirements.

About You

You’re a practical and collaborative maintenance or reliability leader who enjoys improving how equipment, processes and teams perform.

You combine technical knowledge with an approachable leadership style and can balance long-term strategy with day-to-day operational requirements.

You’ll bring:

• Post-trade or relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering
• Experience in maintenance, reliability, engineering or asset management within manufacturing or a similarly complex operational environment.
• A track record of improving equipment reliability, maintenance performance and operational outcomes.
• Experience leading, coaching or developing technical team members.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, risk assessment, structured problem-solving and relevant Australian safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience managing projects, budgets, contractors or service providers, with knowledge of refrigeration, steam or site utilities well regarded.
