Job summary

Asahi Beverages is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to support our packaging operations and manufacturing lines. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnose faults, and contribute to reliability initiatives to keep production running smoothly.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will join a collaborative team of tradespeople, working across 12-hour rotating day and night shifts. A trade qualification and FMCG experience are highly valued.

  • Trade qualification required for mechanical role in FMCG manufacturing.
  • Experience in FMCG, food, beverage, or packaging manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
  • Support reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Work with Production, Engineering and tradespeople to maintain plant performance.

Job description

Join a collaborative maintenance team supporting canning, packaging and manufacturing operations.

Join one of Australia's leading beverage manufacturers and play a key role in keeping our production lines running safely, efficiently, and reliably. We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to support our packaging operations through preventative maintenance, fault finding, equipment improvements, and reliability initiatives.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant performance across our manufacturing operations. Working within a collaborative team of tradespeople, you'll respond to breakdowns, complete planned maintenance activities, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
  • Support reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and fellow tradespeople to maintain plant performance.
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture and ensure equipment remains safe and fit for operation.
About You

We're looking for a hands-on Mechanical Technician who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys solving technical problems.

  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Technician.
  • Experience within FMCG, food, beverage, or packaging manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience with packaging equipment, conveyors, fillers, canning or PET bottling lines highly regarded.
  • Safety-focused with a collaborative team approach.
  • Passion for reliability, continuous improvement, and equipment performance.
