Job summary

Costa Group is seeking a seasoned Pack Shed Manager for our Far North Queensland operations, based in the Atherton region. You will lead packing shed activities, oversee cooling, storage and dispatch, and align harvest volumes with customer demand to sustain quality and efficiency.

You’ll drive continuous improvement across post-harvest operations, balancing labour, throughput and costs while maintaining safety and compliance in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with pack shed, logistics or post-harvest operations.
• Experience managing teams and labour within an operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, cool chain management and supply chain processes.
• Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance and compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyse performance data and drive operational improvements.
• Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder-management capability.
• Strong computer literacy and reporting skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety, food safety, quality and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate packing shed activities, including packing, cooling, storage and dispatch.
• Ensure fruit is handled efficiently and within required timeframes to maximise quality and throughput.
• Optimise pack line performance, labour utilisation and resource allocation.
• Oversee cool chain management from harvest to dispatch.
• Coordinate dispatch and order fulfilment to meet customer schedules.
• Collaborate with harvest, quality, supply chain, marketing and transport teams.
