Job summary

AIG is seeking a Corporate Counsel for the Pacific region to provide end-to-end legal and regulatory support across Australia and New Zealand. You will advise on policy wordings, endorsements, distribution arrangements and insurance law, while coordinating with internal teams and external counsel.

Based in Australia, you will report to the Head of Legal, Pacific, and collaborate with colleagues globally. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential extension, requiring strong judgement

Qualifications

Must have a law degree and an unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
Proven post-qualification experience in-house or private practice with general insurance exposure.
Ability to advise on insurance law, regulatory matters and commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

Provide end-to-end legal and regulatory support to AIG’s Pacific operations (Australia and New Zealand).
Advise on product wordings, endorsements, distribution arrangements and regulatory requirements.
Instruct and collaborate with external counsel on complex policy wording reviews.
Support APRA/ASIC-related matters and other regulatory expectations.
Sign off on collateral, communications and other market-facing materials.
Liaise with internal stakeholders across Australia and globally.
