Job summary

Bright & Duggan Group is seeking a People & Culture Business Partner to deliver our People Strategy and foster a workplace where employees are engaged and empowered. You will partner with NSW leaders to drive people initiatives, including engagement, wellbeing, and performance support, aligning systems with business objectives.

Based in our St Leonards Head Office, this hybrid role requires occasional travel to Sydney Olympic Park and Kirrawee locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian employment law and modern awards.
  • Experience in property, real estate, or strata (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience delivering people initiatives and change programs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to understand organisational objectives and align people strategies accordingly.
  • Provide expert HR advice, solutions, and support to leaders.
  • Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Support leaders with change management, organisational design, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Implement workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
  • Guide managers through performance review processes and development plans.
  • Advise on and resolve employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • Support Health Safety & Wellbeing initiatives to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Lead P&C projects and process improvements aligned with strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and relevant awards.

Job Description

As part of our People & Culture team, you'll contribute to the delivery of our People & Culture Edge Strategy and annual P&C Roadmap. You will partner closely with leaders across the NSW business to foster a culture of connection, belonging, wellbeing, and high performance, ensuring our people are equipped to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and communities. This aligns with the role's purpose of driving strategic and operational P&C support, partnering with leaders to implement effective people practices and strengthen organisational performance.

In this influential role, you will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, partnering with leaders and employees across the organisation to deliver impactful people solutions. From employee engagement and organisational change to talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, and leadership support, you will help drive initiatives that strengthen our culture, develop capability, and align our people strategy with business objectives.

About the Role:

  • Partner with business leaders and managers to understand organisational objectives and align people strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with leaders and teams to provide expert HR advice, solutions, and support
  • Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture consistent with company values
  • Support leaders with change management, organisational design, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Implement workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning initiatives to ensure the company has the right skills and capabilities for the future.
  • With our Talent Acquisition Manager support end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Guide managers through performance review processes, provide coaching, and assist with managing underperformance and development plans.
  • Advise on and resolve employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, supporting fair and consistent application of policies, procedures and compliance with Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Support the Health Safety & Wellbeing Officer to implement initiatives, ensuring a safe working environment in accordance with Australian standards.
  • Participate in and lead P&C projects and process improvements aligned with strategic people objectives.
  • Ensure all People and Culture practices comply with local, state, and federal laws, and relevant awards.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field (highly desirable)
  • Minimum 3 years Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner experience (Essential)
  • Knowledge of Australian employment law and modern awards
  • Experience in property, real estate, or strata (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience delivering people initiatives and change programs
