Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet overseas assignment in Australia (Garden Island, Western Australia) seeks a skilled supervisor to lead rigging operations and direct a crew in planning, training, and safe execution of heavy-load tasks.

You will review technical plans, assign work, mentor team members, and ensure all tools and materials are available, properly maintained, and used in accordance with safety standards. A pre-employment clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead or supervise a crew and mentor junior workers.
• Ability to independently plan, lay out, install, and inspect rigging gear for complex operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot and inform supervisors on project status and needs.
• Knowledge of rigging practices and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review technical plans to lay out jobs and assign crew.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and training to three or more workers.
• Lead the team in lifting and moving heavy loads, personally handling the most complex tasks.
• Inspect work during and after completion to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are available and properly maintained.
• Keep your supervisor informed of progress, delays, and any operational problems.
