Job summary

Happy Faces Disability Support in Lavington NSW seeks a reliable, compassionate Disability Support Worker to join the team for active overnight shifts in a supported living environment. You will monitor participants, provide personal care, assist with overnight needs and complete charts and handovers as required.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in disability support or related care, strong observation and communication skills, and a professional, calm approach for night work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in disability support, aged care, health care or a similar role.
• Experience working active overnight shifts.
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Ability to recognise and escalate changes in health or presentation.
• A calm and professional approach.
• Excellent reliability and punctuality.
• The ability to follow care plans, clinical instructions and management directives.
• An understanding of professional boundaries and participant confidentiality.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Completing scheduled participant checks and monitoring throughout the night.
• Providing personal care and assistance as required.
• Supporting participants with repositioning, continence care and other overnight needs.
• Monitoring for changes in health, behaviour or general presentation and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Following individual care plans, behaviour support plans, health management plans and organisational procedures.
• Assisting with two-person supports when required.
• Completing all required charts, progress notes and handover documentation before the end of the shift.
