Job summary

Bundaberg Regional Council is seeking a reliable Collection Services Plant Operator to operate waste collection vehicles, collect waste from residential and commercial sites, and assist with depot and waste management activities across the Bundaberg Region.

The role requires an HR licence, a White Card, and willingness to work weekends/public holidays. Experience with truck-mounted compactors and safe operating practices is essential for this outdoor, hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Hold a current HR class driver’s licence.
• Hold a General Construction Induction (White) card.
• Willing to work weekends and public holidays when required.
• Experienced in operating truck‑mounted waste compaction units, including dual‑control vehicles and bin‑lifting mechanisms.
• Confident operating single and dual‑axle trucks, with strong skills in pre‑start checks, safety practices, and basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate waste collection vehicles.
• Collect residential and commercial waste.
• Maintain equipment and assist with depot and waste management activities including maintenance and delivery of rubbish bins.
• Support recycling outcomes and delivery of essential services across the Bundaberg Region.
